Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
The Valley Alliance of Mentors for Opportunities and Scholarships (“VAMOS,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit vamosscholars.org, apply for a scholarship, make a donation, or contact us, and how we use and protect that information.
Information we collect
- Scholarship applications. Contact and demographic details, academic records, financial-need information, essays, and the names of your recommenders.
- Donations. Your name, contact information, and gift details. Card payments are processed entirely by Stripe — VAMOS never receives or stores your full card number.
- Contact & correspondence. Information you provide through our contact form, by email, or by phone.
- Usage data. Standard, non-identifying analytics such as pages visited and device type, used to improve the site.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Review and administer scholarship applications and renewals;
- Process donations and send tax receipts;
- Communicate with you about our programs, events, and your status;
- Operate, maintain, and improve this website.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate — such as Stripe (payments), Resend (email), and Supabase (secure data hosting) — and only as needed to provide their service, or when required by law. Scholarship information is reviewed solely by the VAMOS Scholarship Committee.
Applicants under 18
Many of our applicants are high-school seniors who may be under 18. We collect their information for the sole purpose of evaluating scholarships, with the understanding that a parent or guardian is involved in the application. If you believe a minor has provided information without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
Data security
We use reputable, security-conscious providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and limit access to those who need it.
Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any message or by contacting us directly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “last updated” date above.
